What is a link farm?
A link farm is a group of websites created for the sole purpose of linking to each other — or to paying clients — to manipulate rankings. The sites are typically low-quality, auto-generated and contain nothing of real value.
Why link farms are dangerous
Google’s spam systems are specifically designed to detect link farms and their participants. Sites caught using them can receive algorithmic demotions or manual actions, and recovery is slow. The ‘links’ carry no real value — they are a liability, not an asset.
